Rain, Rain, Don't go away...

When the sun came out while it was raining the other day, I ran out side to take some pictures. Here are the ones that I got. Also, here is my 'Verse' Picture for Photography....This one isn't very good.

This is one of the tulips that are growing in our front yard. I love the water drops and the color.

This isn't a very good picture, but I like how you can see the rain.

I love this one. It's a very cool silhouette.

We have this tree in our front yard that is flowering. I love the color!!

This picture is for the verse Song of Solomon 1:15 "Behold you are fair my love; behold you are fair! you have dove's eyes."

Am I a Traitor?

I'm just not sure. I'm thinking about switching over to Wordpress. It's sad, I know. I just can't stand the templates on Blogger. Wordpress has like, 40 good ones. Anyways, I will be sure to put a link to my new blog If I do change. Not like anyone actually reads this anyways, but Oh well. I would just be sad to leave all of my old posts behind. They might be lonely. ♥

"The Shack"-An absolute, MUST READ!

Okay, so I don't do this very often, you know, endorsing stuff on my blog, but this is the best book I have ever read. I'm not exaggerating. You need to read this book, I don't care what religion you are, or what time of life you are in. I mean it. This message needs to get around the world. Read it. Pass it on.

First Photography Field Trip!

Okay, so I know that I am a little late posting this since the Field trip was a couple Saturdays ago.
So, I had the best group, and the best team leader; Mrs. Paulson! I will put the group pictures we took at the end.
When we got there, Mrs. Paulson handed out the Scavenger Hunt sheet. There were things listed on there that we had to capture in a photo. Here are mine-
This one was for 'Shiny'. I love this one.
'Round'. I love this one too! did I mention that we were at the city market?
'Smooth'. This was at a really cool coffee shop. We went in and they had these cool round stairs that we went up, and they had this cool glass chess set! And a bathroom. That wasn't as cool.
'Three'. These were some of the guys in our group. They were on a park bench. The photo got a little messed up when I was downloading it.
'Reflection' of Anya and I.
'Blue'. I love this one too. I got some really good flower shots.

'Light'. Mrs. Paulson really liked this one. I like it too.
This is my other 'Light' one. I loved the shade of pink.
'Wet'. Nice pond scum, eh?

'Contrast'. I was so surprised to see this tiny shell on the shore of that little pond! I really like this picture.'Motion'. John looks like he's doing a midget-star! (hehe) private JH TDA joke...

'Funny'. Superman! The look on Samuel's face is priceless.

Whew! Okay, those are all of the Scavenger Hunt photos. Now for all of the extra-behind-the-scene pictures.

Really pretty flowers.

More pretty flowers. I love the vibrancy, and the contrast.

This is just a awesome picture. It was really good candy.

This is the cool salsa guy who gave us tons of free salsa. Iliked the Pinapple (hehe) stuff. Yum.

Haley and Caitlyn. They're so cute!

The Koth's dog. He was really soft.

A cool close-up of the 'shack'.

A really good portrait photo. It wasn't taken during the field trip, though.

Okay, now for the group photos!!

Our wonderful group leader, Mrs. Paulson. I like that she's laughing.

We took this group picture at city market. I like it!

This is probably my favorite photo I got. The fantastic Verna Pitts took it. I wish I had gotten a picture of her. Thanks for the batteries Verna!

This concludes the epic post of the pictures from the epic field trip. Stay tuned for next time!

Yet another Photography Assignment...

Here is the latest photo that I have taken for Photography class. The assignment was to take a picture that represented one of these six words:

Mercy
Grace
Truth
Justice
Humility
Faith

I, however did my picture on the word 'Hope'. (Don't worry, I emailed her and got her permission first!) So, here is my picture.

It's supposed to represent the Hope of new life and Spring.

It's been a loooong day.

Wow. It definitely has. I got up at 6:30 this morning to travel to Springfield to visit our family, and then rode in a car for 3 hours. Then I ate a huge lunch, and meandered around the mall with my family. Then, we drove another 3 hours to come back home. I got a lot done, though. I made an amigurumi pear and read about a quarter of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I'll update with pictures from our trip and of the crocheted pear. Didn't know I had so many talents did ya?

St. Patrick's Day Parade

As a lot of you know, KC has one of the biggest St. Pat's parades in the US...well at least usually. Today was the dreariest day I have ever experienced, (OK, that's an over-statement, but still) so the parade was actually pretty small. The IHOP float got placed last year, so we were #27 in line this year. Last year we were #107 in line, out of 108 or something like that. Anyways, most of the people who signed up came and braved the rain and the wind. It was actually sort of fun, although there was no music, so we had to sing along to Isaac Meyers' singing and clapping. Overall, the reception was pretty good, although a few people still mad comments like "Hey! it's the cult people!" and stuff like that. I didn't get to take pictures (the rain), although I did take some in the car on the way home. Only one of them was really good:

You can see in the picture how dark it was.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Adoption

I never realized how many IHOP people are adopting or pursuing it right now. I am blown away by the courage it must take to step out in faith that God will provide the money, the favor (cause sometimes you definitely need it!) and everything that they'll need. There are so many great stories! Everytime I stumble across a blog that is done by an IHOPer that is adopting and giving updates, it makes me smile, because I know that God is smiling on them too.

It's about time.

I finally changed my header picture to a photo that I actually took. I had to change the entire skin and everything. Oy. Anyways, I'm posting to tell you that I finally bought my own Camera. YES!!! Here is a picture I took of it:

Isn't it beautiful? *sniff-sniff*

Anyways, I took A LOT of photos yesterday, using the close-up thing on my camera. I don't want to confuse you with all this technical speech (ha-ha) so I'll show you the symbol on the camera...

And....(drumroll please,) here they are.

These are actually two paintings that my Grandma did, I just took pictures of some of the details.

And...

Here is a picture of a candle.

And a plant...

And a picture of my Mom's applique...

And the grand finale...a calculator.

A dirty calculator.

IHOP

I guess it's about time that I explain what this freaky IHOP thing I've been talking about is, huh? Well, I don't have enough time to do that, so this will have to do.

So basically I'm saying visit the link on the sign. 'Nuff said.

Pictures...

Here is a picture of myself that I randomly took...myself.

Anyways...Here is a less-blurry picture of Anya and Juliet. :)

I love shooting things! (haha! I mean Photography of course...)

Community Photo

Here is the photo I took for the "Community" assignment in Photography. First of all however, this photo needs some explaining. My neighborhood has statues at the beginning of every street. I thought that it would be cool if I took a picture of some of them. To me it symbolizes Jesus, the Lion of Judah. Or, at least that's what I was trying to symbolize. Also, my dad and my sister thought that the trashbags represent something too, they're just not sure what...

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I actually took this picture from a car, with the window up. Pretty impressive huh? The camera was set to an ISO of 400 or something.

Here are some other pictures that I have taken recently...

I actually LOVE this photo. It's my friend Anya's half-eaten apple. She was really annoyed at me for taking it, but I thought that it was really cool looking. The really pale inside contrasts perfectly with the dark red outside.

This another one of the statues in our neighborhood. I think that the blue face makes it look very interesting.

I'm sorry, but this is THE coolest fire hydrant EVER. I don't know why I love it so much, but the colors and the peeling paint just make it look so...I don't know, abandoned?

This statue is in one of our neighbor's yard.

Again, in a neighbor's yard.

What is it with me and photographing statues?

Tuesday

Tuesday is just about over, and I'm sitting here and contemplating how it went. This morning was great, because it was the GBF (global bridegroom fast, for all you non-ihoppers) so everyone was there. Also, Mr. Fraser spoke on dilligence, and that was like, awesome. Then we all went over to the JPR (Justice prayer room, again non-ihoppers) and that was really good. And, to top it all off, I got some photos that may work for the "Community" assignment. I haven't loaded them on my computer, or edited them yet, so I guess ya'll will have to wait. That's about all that happened.
I have to go, I still need to finish my Algebra 1/2, and possibly do some Geography, and finish the dishes, and save Metropolis, you know, the basics.

Farewell my adoring public!
~Jubilee

P.S.- If you guys didn't get the 'Metropolis' thing, you have never read a comic book. Ever.

Friends

These are my friends, Anya and Juliet. I love these pictures! even though they are quite a bit blurry, I still like them. I figured out how to fix the blurry problem, (Mrs. Paulson!) so next time you can count on crystal clear photos.

They make me laugh so hard...!
